131. Finding Solace in Yoga to “Soothe Your Soul”
Liz Nierzwicki is an entrepreneur, motivational speaker, author, and health and fitness expert. Founder of Solace Yoga Studio in Mishawaka, Indiana, the studio’s tagline is: Soothe Your Soul. Her mission: “To help people love their lives, create a future they’re excited about, and know that yoga leads to peace.”
How Did You Start Using Your Talents?
The youngest of three children, Liz learned early to speak up for herself. She recalls having a talk with herself at age 12 when she was developing some potentially obsessive compulsive habits, and changed her behavior. Years later she was able to spot the pattern in others and help by sharing her experiences.
The Most Impactful Turning Point?
A broken back from a childhood sledding accident at age seven, led her through a long recovery. “I learned I had to squeeze the muscles of my core before doing any other movement. Looking back, it’s no surprise I eventually became a personal trainer, then a yoga practitioner and instructor.”
The Most Powerful Lessons Learned?
“Our whole purpose on the planet is to share love, peace and happiness. When we can help others connect back to the peaceful place within themselves, that’s a true gift. At the core of our being, outside of everything we do, we’re divine, perfect, peaceful and happy. That’s our birthright.”
